What happens on a dance night?
Deciding to come to class is your first entry into the world of dancing.
When you arrive - you will be greeted at the reception area just inside the main hall. (remember our entrance to the hall is off Rangiuru Street) This is where you will register your attendance each night when you arrive. Once you have registered take a seat and our teacher for the night will ask you to come up on the floor for a warm up prior to the beginner class starting.
As most people arrive around 7:15 - 7:20 pm for the start of the beginner class at 7:25 pm, you may see people already up and dancing, don't be too worried as these people will probably be finishing another class in action or just social dancing.
Beginners Introductory Classes is an easy introduction to Ceroc dancing a 45 minute class which has been designed to be fun, entertaining and a great way to meet people! 3 moves are taught each week during a fun class, these beginner moves are basic entry level moves suitable for very new dancers to the club. Strung together they form a routine and form the basis of other Ceroc Dance moves as you go up the class levels.
Beginner Style & Review
Beginner Style and Review is not a class, but a time to ask questions of our Review Session coordinators. These dancers understand that when learning something new for the first time it's great to be able to have a bit of help.
Intermediate Class you are really getting the in the swing of things now, Dancing the beginner moves with more confidence, which are becoming second nature. Here we add in the wow factor now with the addition of more technical moves and dips and drops.
You will learn more moves to a higher level but we also take the beginner level moves during the class, but add variations with style.
General
Be easy on yourself it will take about 3- 4 weeks from when you first start to get the hang of learning to dance, after about 4-5 classes you will be ready for our Beginners Essentials Workshop (see Workshops) which will help you relax more and dance easier.
Routines
Beginner Routines consist of 3 moves. We have put together 10 weeks of routines, we cover a routine each week over 10 weeks while your in the beginner level.
